Exterior – iconic design.
The unique DNA of the G-Class arose some 40 years ago. Iconic features which continue to define its unparalleled appearance to this day.
Its functional, robust front has retained its character over decades. Clear lines and large, flat surfaces shape the side view of the G-Class. Characteristic features are the two large windows in the rear and the exposed spare wheel on the rear-end door. The striking wheel arch liners and the wide track provide for a dominant appearance.

The fully revised interior design sets a whole new standard. The design idiom and the proportions inside clearly identify the vehicle as the new G-Class: self-confident, sharp-edged, iconic. The spacious interior of the G-Class appears to have been modelled on nature. The new space concept offers all the occupants in the G-Class exemplary spaciousness and comfort.

The new G-Class is not only in its element in off-road terrain. The off-roader is equally uncompromising on asphalt. On the road, the vehicle offers a whole new level of dynamism and comfort and delivers the type of driving enjoyment with which G-Class drivers have long been familiar in off-road terrain.
The G-Class reconciles opposites. Luxury meets adventure and ruggedness is combined with protection. Inside, high-quality materials and high-class appeal provide for a particularly refined atmosphere and impart an absolutely safe and secure feeling. The new COMAND Online system supports the driver with additional functions which noticeably take the strain out of driving on every trip. The ambient lighting bathes the interior in any of 64 selectable light moods if desired, and the optional Burmester® surround sound system treats the occupants to the ultimate audio experience.
The vehicle also offers substantially more space for all those on board. Newly designed seats upholstered in finest nappa leather impart a feeling of security and the optionally available massage function provides for relaxation, whether you are in city traffic or far away from civilisation.

Active Lane Keeping Assist
Driver assistance system that helps to prevent unintentional drifting out of lane.
The system can recognise an unintended departure from the lane, warn the driver with steering wheel vibrations and apply one-sided braking action to manoeuvre the vehicle back into its lane. Active Lane Keeping Assist operates in a speed range between 60 and 200 km/h.
Parking Package with 360-degree camera
The Parking Package with 360-degree camera and Active Parking Assist makes finding a parking space as well as manoeuvring into, and out of, parallel or end-on parking spaces easier.
The 360-degree camera is switched on automatically when reverse gear is selected. It shows the area around the vehicle on the multimedia system display and also presents the information from Parking Assist PARKTRONIC on the depicted vehicle's contours. It is active up to a speed of around 10 km/h.
MULTIBEAM LED
The MULTIBEAM LED headlamps enable high beam to be left on without dazzling other road users. Individually controllable LEDs direct the light precisely so as to blank out other vehicles whilst illuminating the surroundings with almost daytime-level brightness.
The light can always be switched on precisely where it is required via 84 individually controllable LEDs. A total of four control units calculate the ideal light pattern 100 times per second using information from a camera behind the windscreen.
ATTENTION ASSIST
This system can increase driving safety particularly on long trips and when driving at night.
ATTENTION ASSIST monitors the steering behaviour of the driver to recognise typical signs of drowsiness and severe loss of attention, and warns of impending microsleep with a visual and audible warning.
