The G 320 CDI and G 500 are equipped with the 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission, which delivers almost imperceptible gear changes. For faster mid-range acceleration, the transmission can change down by several gears at once, resulting in reduced overall shift times and reduced fuel consumption.

In the G 55 AMG, smooth gear changes are provided by a 5-speed automatic transmission with Touchshift.
