To provide efficient, powerful pulling power the C 200 CDI and the C 220 CDI now have even more power and considerably higher torque thanks to numerous technical innovations. For instance, the oil-spray nozzles have been enlarged to achieve more effective piston cooling.
And also thanks to an optimised oil supply to the friction bearings, the C 200 CDI now delivers 100 kW (136 hp) and the C 220 CDI 125 kW (170 hp). What’s more, the metal glow plugs in the two engines have been replaced with ceramic plugs which can reach higher temperatures and therefore improve the engine’s cold-running characteristics. The diesel engines come with a particulate filter[1] as standard.
